Heavily processed, but the eyes remain unaltered from the original image.
Hi guys! This year I'll be putting up fewer shots, but hopefully improving the quality at the same time. Sort of a 'best of' if you like. This community is terrific in so many ways - I love it even if I don't often comment. The people on here make it a great place to be. I'm also writing a health-related blog - if you're interested, hop on over to http://healthskills.wordpress.com/ and make yourself known!

Her eyes are such a stunning green. It's so hard to believe that you left her eyes untouched during the post-processing. Still, I love the effect and even without seeing her mouth, you can see the smile throughout the rest of her face.

Wow. i love this. It actually is a little scary looking to me. How did you do the washed out effect?

@Camera Dan: There were a few steps to it!! I made two copies, one to preserve her eyes, and the other to play with. Then I increased the saturation, contrast and put some graininess over the image. Then I decided to reduce the saturation, and I think I played a little with the shadows, highlights and mid-tones (but I can't really remember!!), then I made a layer mask on the one I had been playing with, and erased the area in her iris, to show the colour. Well, at least I think that's what it did!!!
