Fancy a lazy shag?
Hi guys! This year I'll be putting up fewer shots, but hopefully improving the quality at the same time. Sort of a 'best of' if you like. This community is terrific in so many ways - I love it even if I don't often comment. The people on here make it a great place to be. I'm also writing a health-related blog - if you're interested, hop on over to http://healthskills.wordpress.com/ and make yourself known!

First i thought there was dolphin lying there on the rocks..maybe it was petrified with the thought and sight of an afternoon shag.

@badala: Thank you, you are very flattering especially when I look at yours!!! I think there is something about being able to access the wilds quite easily, and having a 2G memory card..
Is Shag the name of this bird?? Shag has a whole different meaning to me...I guess I'm missing the joke. I love the perspective though the rocks lead straight to the subject. The rock pool looks interesting. Have you thought about using a polarizing filter? It would have added the detail in the foreground. It's just a thought. Great composition non the less.

@Colour blind: The bird is called a shag - and yes, the word shag has a whole different meaning in slang here too!! I haven't got a polarising filter - the D50 is only 6 weeks old with me and although I bought a UV filter to protect it, I haven't got a polarising. Still coming to grips with a DSLR compared with my wee Olympus mju 400! I'll be off down to the photo shop I can see...
Wow! A guettor... fine capture.
