Gulls
Hi guys! This year I'll be putting up fewer shots, but hopefully improving the quality at the same time. Sort of a 'best of' if you like. This community is terrific in so many ways - I love it even if I don't often comment. The people on here make it a great place to be. I'm also writing a health-related blog - if you're interested, hop on over to http://healthskills.wordpress.com/ and make yourself known!

@H.O: Aren't those wings fabulous?! I love the arc of the wings, good design (whether human or 'god') is always good to me! I'm glad I caught the light through the wings, a really precious sight.
Nice capture mate. Did you pay them some chips as there modelling fee?

@Darren: We were gutting a kahawai that I had caught while fishing, and stuffing the guts into the crayfish pots as bait. The smell was disgusting, but they thought it was caviar I'm sure. There are more pictures of these birds on the way!
nice catch! lovely details

@Prashanth: Thank you! There was a bit of selective dodging and burning to keep the detail without losing the contrast.
Just perfect.

@Manuela Photography: Thank you - the detail was something I really wanted to catch, and not just make them silhouettes.

@Jason Kravitz: Thank you!
Nice shot getting the two birds in the scene like that. And they're both in good focus. Well done.
@Aaron Schmidt: It was a bit of a fluke - but wait, there's more!! It was dead calm and the new D50 was in my hands, and I had a new lens to play with!!!!
I call this "The Dance of the Birds" or the "The Dance before the dueal" or "The dance of love" or..... interpretation is at the hands of the veiwer. Lovely capture.

Nice visual hierchy here, well shot!!

And my favorite part, they're both flying into the frame! It's a general rule that everything should be entering/existing in the frame unless it's for a special effect/message. Great work here!

@Michael Zhang: Thank you, I did do a bit of creative cropping!
Wow, it's like they posed just for you! A natural air show. Excellent capture.
