A series of seagulls. I really don't like seagulls. They are noisy, greedy, scrappy creatures - the rats of the bird world. But - there had to be a but - in the air, there is something beautiful about them.
Hi guys! This year I'll be putting up fewer shots, but hopefully improving the quality at the same time. Sort of a 'best of' if you like. This community is terrific in so many ways - I love it even if I don't often comment. The people on here make it a great place to be. I'm also writing a health-related blog - if you're interested, hop on over to http://healthskills.wordpress.com/ and make yourself known!

@purelysnow: Thank you, they can be such a pest when you're having fish and chips by the beach!
I like to critique but I dont find much here. The colors and so refreshing here.

This is one beautiful shot - the water is not choppy - just smooth wavy ripples and beautiful color. The detail in the birds is lovely and they are beautiful! They are terrible scavengers but beautiful birds nonetheless. Mine are still coming around my patio hoping for bread. When the weather gets nicer they will be back at the beach, nagging at tourists.

@Anne: The water was nice and flat - just as well because I get seasick! Nagging is the right word for them!!
They are very beautiful when they're flying. You've captured them so well!!! I love the clarity of this picture and their whites are very soft. Excellent.

I share your sentiments about sea gulls, but we sure would miss them if they were not around.

@Bob: You bet - just wish they wouldn't make so much noise!
Very cool distorted reflections in the water and I like how they're both flying into the frame.

@Michael Zhang: Thank you, catching them so they were both in the frame was a bit tricky, I hoped hadn't chopped the right hand side off too much..
soooo cool!

@Sidonie: Thank you, I am trying to learn the art of pp, it's a bit of a hit and miss, I'm very self taught!
Lovely. Don't be so hard on seagulls, after all, humans are the rats of the primate world.

@Damon Schreiber: I know, I know...but do they have to make so much noise about it?!!
I like that the one seagull is scooping up water in this picture! And that their reflections are visible in the water. Great timing, again.

@Evelyn: Thank you, it was purely chance and a lot of photos!!!
