Well, having some fun with processing this one! To unpack the title of this one - I did a whole bunch of processing (can't remember for the life of me exactly what I did!), one bit of which involved inverting the image like a negative using lab colours or something, it worked out great huh?!! So it's backwards, sideways and probably inside-out.
Hi guys! This year I'll be putting up fewer shots, but hopefully improving the quality at the same time. Sort of a 'best of' if you like. This community is terrific in so many ways - I love it even if I don't often comment. The people on here make it a great place to be. I'm also writing a health-related blog - if you're interested, hop on over to http://healthskills.wordpress.com/ and make yourself known!

@M.E.: Next time maybe!! I'm a real dabbler with photoshop, (actually with all my arty farty things!!), and I just keep going until I get the effect that I want! plus read heaps via google!
It's like how it would look in a black and white dream. Beautiful!

@Behrooz: thank you! I'm not sure what effect I was looking for, it just sort of happened, but I'm pleased with it!!

@Jerry: Thanks, I wish i could remember - had something to do with blurs and overlays!!
LOVE it! The effect you created is beautiful! So glad to hear I'm not the only one who plays around in ps until it works, but can't remember exactly how it happened : D

@Jen: LOL! yes, experimentation beats reading any manual huh! I think I must be a bloke, if there's a manual to explain things, I hate to read it first!!
Well done, looks a bit like an IR photo!
8 Mar 2007 7:00am
@Putter: Thanks, I must look up how to do the IR thing, never been sure about whether I like the IR effect or not, sometimes it can be awesome, other times...not so sure! But in this image I do like the ghostly thing happening
Stunning shot.

@Craig Persel: Thanks Craig!
Excellent composition all the way around. Line, shape, and value repetition are very strong here. I love all the mid tones too! Great job!

@Craiger: Thanks Craiger, I love the lines of the toitoi, they're incredibly graphic and distinctive plants.
Well I believe that creativity is not knowing, it's finding. And you did that very well:)
@Behrooz: I like that saying - creativity is no knowing, it's finding! Can I quote you?
LOL, loving the image and the PP

@Addey Kehinde: Thanks Addey - and these ones won't add calories to your diet, unlike your delicious foodie ones!!
Sure. I'll be honored. :)

Very good work of "contrejour"!

I like how the stalks are solid, but the (hairs/wisps/leaves) are wonderful shades of gray.

@Michael Zhang: Thank you! I guess they're seedheads, really...Whatever, in reality they're not quite as soft as they came out in this shot!
And it's a winner! Though, if you want my humble opinion, I prefer the original, simply because those toi tois brought back vividly my time spent in NZ eons ago -the softness, the name (who wouldn't like to say it?), the colors - a very beautiful plant.

@Sidonie: Thanks Sidonie - just a few others to show. You must come back and visit if it was eons ago!!
This one is awesome!!
