inner struggle

Another shot of this wonderful sculpture by Richard Taylor and Weta Workshop to celebrate the creativity of people with dyslexia. In New Zealand it is only two months since the Ministry of Education finally recognised dyslexia as a specific learning disability, eligible for assistance in schooling.
I don't have dyslexia, and neither have my two children - and the world of words is something that means so much to me I can't imagine what it must be like to struggle with something that I have always taken for granted. Yet some of the most creative engineers, artists, sculptors, painters and muscians have dyslexia. If we could only celebrate their difference as a gift, what an immense richness our society would have!

Hi guys!
This year I'll be putting up fewer shots, but hopefully improving the quality at the same time. Sort of a 'best of' if you like.
This community is terrific in so many ways - I love it even if I don't often comment. The people on here make it a great place to be.
I'm also writing a health-related blog - if you're interested, hop on over to http://healthskills.wordpress.com/
and make yourself known!
